Accelerated Polymer Compounding Innovation

Small-batch polymer processing for materials research, formulation development, and shaping

What is small batch compounding?

Small batch polymer compounding, also known as micro compounding, is the process of blending polymers, additives, or fillers in very small batches (typically 2 – 15 g) using specialized conical twin-screw extruders. This enables researchers and product developers to evaluate formulations quickly, cost-effectively, and with minimal waste.

Common Applications:

Polymer R&D: Fiber- and particle-filled composites, polymer blends, and reactive extrusion

Pharmaceuticals: API incorporation, drug–polymer compatibility studies, hot melt extrusion, and amorphous solid dispersions

Medical Devices: Development of biodegradable polymers and controlled drug-releasing compounds

Cosmetics: Formulation of high-performance creams, gels, and encapsulates

Food Science: Nutraceuticals and next-generation bio-based packaging materials

Why Choose Our Micro Compounding Service?
